About the Position
The Municipality of Qeqertalik is seeking a structured and dedicated executive secretary with strong collaborative skills and a high level of discretion. The position is centrally located within the political and administrative leadership and is based in Aasiaat. You will play a key role in supporting the mayor and the executive board in their day-to-day work, and your workday will be characterized by a fast pace, a high level of responsibility, and frequent interaction with various stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities
- Calendar Management and Scheduling for the Mayor
- Meeting preparation, including the distribution of agendas and meeting materials
- Minutes from Meetings and Events
- Correspondence and Communication, Internal and External
- Recording in the ESDH system Public 360
- Practical support and coordination related to the mayor’s and the executive board’s travel
- Close collaboration with the mayor, the executive board, the secretariat, and other stakeholders within and outside the municipality
Qualifications
- Fluent in Greenlandic and strong communication skills in Danish and English
- Familiar with the Office suite, especially Outlook, Teams, and Word
- Knowledge of or experience with Public 360 and the municipal financial management system Prisme is a plus
- Experience in secretarial duties, political support, or administration is preferred
- A college degree or office training is preferred, but not required

Salary and Terms of Employment:
Salary and terms of employment are governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant bargaining organization.
The position will include a 3-month probationary period.
Criminal Record:
This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal background check. Under this law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received a criminal background check. We must therefore point out that the start date cannot be agreed upon until the municipality has received the criminal record check from the police.
Housing:
Staff housing may be provided for this position; a security deposit, rent, utilities, etc., will be payable in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time regarding rent payments for properties owned by the Government of Greenland and municipalities in Greenland. If permanent employee housing cannot be made available immediately upon starting employment, employees entitled to vacant housing will be offered temporary vacant housing, for which A-tax on non-cash benefits will be paid in accordance with applicable law.
Relocation travel and household goods relocation are provided in accordance with applicable rules.
An employee residence must be vacated upon termination of employment.
