The Municipality of Kujalleq is seeking a dedicated, qualified social worker with experience in the area of social security benefits, to begin on October 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.  

The position is currently based in Qaqortoq, and the Head of Social Services is the immediate supervisor. The Social Security Benefits Division in the Municipality of Kujalleq is responsible for administering early retirement pensions, public assistance, maternity benefits, housing subsidies, child allowances, and child support, as well as local citizen service offices in the towns.

Criminal Record:

This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal background check. Under this law, employment may not begin until the municipality has obtained a criminal background check. The criminal background check will be taken into account in the municipality’s assessment of who should be hired for the position.

Salary and terms of employment, including the right to travel upon joining or leaving the position and to have household goods moved, in accordance with the ASG collective agreement for administrative managers in effect at the time of appointment, or the classification agreement on salary determination for department heads under the Greenland Self-Government and in the municipalities of Greenland. 

Staff housing may be provided, for which rent and other expenses are paid in accordance with applicable rules. Similarly, free travel upon hiring and relocation of personal belongings are provided—and, after at least 3 years of employment, free travel upon termination and relocation of personal belongings—in accordance with applicable rules.
