All of the municipality’s IT systems and telephone services have been affected, and significant disruptions are expected in the coming period
The Municipality of Sermersooq continues to be affected by a major IT outage that is impacting all of the municipality’s IT and communications systems.
The outage is affecting both the administrative systems that employees use for case processing and citizen services, as well as phones, email, and other digital solutions. This means that the municipality’s normal services and case processing are currently significantly limited.
Throughout the day, the municipality has gained a better understanding of the scope of the issue and is continuing to work closely with internal specialists and external experts to ensure a stable and secure restoration of the affected systems.
The current assessment remains that there will be significant disruptions to operations in the coming period. As a general rule, residents should therefore expect that municipal services and routine case processing will not be operating normally tomorrow either.
However, the municipality’s welfare services will continue to operate as usual. Schools, daycare centers, elder care facilities, residential care homes, and other services that involve direct contact with residents and provide care will remain open and staffed.
