As secretary of the committee, you are responsible for the political administration of the Gagertal Municipality. 

This position is based at INUA, and your department head will be the Chief of Secretariat.

Your closest colleagues are the head of the Secretariat, the expert staff members of the relevant committees, and other external stakeholders in that field. Additionally, there are internal staff within the Secretariat.

In addition to the administrative responsibilities of the Board, you will serve as the primary liaison with the Chair of the Municipal Council. Currently, the standing committees are as follows: the Thimi Tarnie Committee, the Inocarfik Committee, and the Inuit Committee.

Your daily duties and responsibilities will include: 

You will serve on a standing committee, each of which consists of five members and five alternate members.

Educational personnel submit case summaries for consideration by the committee.

Responsible for ensuring that the head of the Secretariat receives information and is informed of progress and trends in the field on an ongoing basis.

Conduct a general review to ensure that the case presentation complies with applicable laws and relevant principles.

Ensure that all relevant documents have been scanned and linked to the citizen’s case file. Attach them to the case summary.

– Adjust and improve work processes

Ensure that decisions, projects, and initiatives aimed at establishing academic standards, implementing legal requirements, or conducting operational development projects are coordinated with relevant parties.

Preparation and Participation in the Study Visit of the Committee

– Including other tasks that arise in the Secretariat Office

We expect you to have the following professional skills:

– Possesses relevant qualifications 

Knowledge of the regulatory framework for public administration and the laws related to local government operations. 

– Experience in organizations under political oversight  

We expect you to follow these guidelines as well. 

– Possesses good teamwork and communication skills.

– Possesses exceptional ability to track various matters and manage busy and high-volume tasks on a daily basis.

– Closely monitor political developments

Criminal History:

This position is subject to the law regarding criminal background checks. Employment cannot begin until the local authority has received the results of the criminal background check. Therefore, we must clarify that the start date cannot be agreed upon until the local authority has received the results of the criminal background check from the police.

Salary and Employment Conditions:

Employment terms and conditions, including travel expenses for assuming and leaving the position, and household goods relocation, will be determined according to the relevant agreement or collective agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant organization authorized to negotiate at the time of appointment.

Residence:

Employee accommodation may be provided subject to the payment of a deposit, rent, utilities, and other applicable charges in accordance with the regulations in effect at the time regarding the payment of rent for properties owned by the Government of Greenland and municipalities, etc., in Greenland. If permanent accommodation cannot be provided to the employee immediately upon taking up the position, eligible employees will be offered temporary accommodation in available properties. In this context, it is considered a benefit related to the employment relationship and must be declared in the tax return in accordance with tax laws.

The employee’s right to housing will terminate upon the end of employment.
