Tasersuup is looking for a teacher for its special education classes
To begin employment on September 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.
If you’d like to join our team, you’ll work with students who are eager to learn and collaborate with colleagues who are focused on development in line with current societal trends. Our school also serves the villages and sheep-farming communities; we oversee the education provided there while collaborating with them. Tasersuup Atuarfia manages the boarding school; the school also works closely with the after-school care center located next to the school, which is open after school hours.
Tasersuup Atuarfia offers special education classes, including Tungujortuaraq. In Tungujortuaraq, students with special needs, among others, are taught in close collaboration with the staff. Tasersuup Atuarfia is open to collaboration with external partners and works closely with them.
We expect you to be:
- A certified teacher.
- That you can maintain good relationships with both students and parents and work collaboratively with them.
- That you can lead the instruction and work well with other partners.
Child Protection Certificate:
This position is subject to the law requiring a child protection clearance. Under the law, employment may not begin until the municipality has obtained a child protection clearance.
The child protection clearance will be part of the municipality’s assessment of who should be hired for the position.
Salary and Terms of Employment
Employment is governed by the collective bargaining agreement between Naalakkersuisut and the Greenland Teachers’ Union (IMAK), the Greenland Primary School Teachers’ Union (IMAK) dated August 27, 2014, and the framework agreement between Naalakkersuisut and IMAK dated October 28, 1998.
Relocation Trip
Free travel for the new employee and their family is provided upon hiring, and after at least 3 years of employment—resignation and relocation of household goods are handled in accordance with applicable rules. The employee applies to the vacation fund for vacation travel.
Staff Housing
Housing may be provided for which rent and a security deposit are paid in accordance with applicable regulations.
