Tasersuup Atuarfia is seeking teachers to begin employment on August 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.


The schools’ work on development in the Municipality of Kujalleq plays a central role. Efforts are underway to improve academic performance. It has been several years since we began using iPads, so we are keeping pace with developments in the IT field. We are looking for competent teachers who can make a difference in our development efforts.

Tasersuup Atuarfia
At Tasersuup Atuarfia, you will meet teachers who work well together. The school has a social worker who acts as a coordinator between the various agencies and as a key resource in the work against bullying and in collaboration with parents. Teachers instruct based on their subject expertise. The Municipality of Kujalleq holds ongoing, effective training courses for its employees to foster good collaboration and innovation. As part of Municipality Kujalleq’s care for its employees, coffee and tea are served every day, and breakfast is offered once a week. Furthermore, students with special needs can eat breakfast at school every morning as well as during the lunch break.
It is particularly noteworthy that the school continues to work on developing parent collaboration. In connection with the use of iPads in teaching, the Kivitsisa project involves a collaboration with four special education teachers and particularly talented students.

Qaqortoq is the most important city in South Greenland, with over 3,000 residents. Tasersuup Atuarfia has 430 students. There are 33 classes, including special education classes such as Tungujortuaraq. There are a total of [number] teachers. They are skilled and experienced, but there are also some newer leaders. There are four distinct levels, including educational and developmental consultants, and we have a strong collaboration with village teachers and home teachers who also serve as advisors to sheep farmers, IT/iPad consultants, school consultants, and other agencies.
Furthermore, the school manages an after-school program/school care arrangement as well as the student dormitory. 


Child Protection Certificate:
The position is subject to the law requiring the submission of a child protection certificate and a criminal record check. According to the law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has obtained a child protection certificate.
The child protection certificate is one of the decisive requirements in the municipality’s decision regarding who will be hired for the position. 

Relocation Travel
In connection with employment, the employee and their family are reimbursed for travel expenses, and after three years, their travel expenses are covered if the teacher leaves the position; additionally, according to the regulations, a relocation allowance is provided. 

EMPLOYMENT ON FAVORABLE TERMS
Employment is based on the agreement of May 25, 2021, between Naalakkersuisut and IMAK. For applicants who are already civil servants in Greenland, this form of employment may be continued.

To attract qualified applicants, employment is offered under the Agreement on Employment on Special Fixed-Term Terms. In practice, this means that the employee and their family are granted a vacation trip after every 12 months of employment in accordance with the applicable rules. In addition, a severance payment of 18,000 DKK per year of employment (at 1991 levels) is provided, which is deposited into a closed account. The severance payment is paid upon termination of employment.


Staff
Housing Housing may be provided, for which rent and a security deposit are paid in accordance with applicable rules.
