We are looking for a dedicated employee for our public assistance department in Nanortalik, to start on July 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.
We are looking for a qualified social worker or someone with a similar background, or someone with experience working as a case worker in a municipality. The position is based in Nanortalik.
You will be part of a team consisting of other case workers in Qaqortoq and Narsaq, and you will provide each other with ongoing professional feedback.

In terms of qualifications, we expect:
- Knowledge of how to work in accordance with the law.
- Good at working with numbers and calculating benefits.
- Proficiency in using computer-based calculation programs, etc.
- You should have some knowledge of public services—and be a good communicator.
- It is important that you can work well as part of a team that is very busy.

Certificate of No Criminal Record for Working with Children:
This position is subject to the law requiring the submission of a child protection certificate and a criminal record check. Under the law, employment may not begin until the municipality has received these certificates. The certificates will be taken into account in the municipality’s decision regarding who to hire for the position.
Staff housing may be provided, for which rent and other fees are paid in accordance with applicable rules. Similarly, free travel to the new location and relocation of household goods are provided upon hiring—and, after at least three years of employment, free travel and relocation of household goods upon termination of employment—in accordance with applicable rules.
