At the school in Qasigiannguit, a teaching position is available, to be filled as of September 1, 2026.

Juunarsip Atuarfia is a school that focuses on learning and well-being, as well as developing its core mission—including efforts toward inclusion—to create the best possible school for its students. Juunarsip Atuarfia also places a high priority on collaboration with parents to achieve its overall goals. The school has approximately 130 students and a staff of 21 teachers. 

The school is divided into three levels. 

As an applicant, you are expected to:

-Is a certified teacher

-Has experience with classroom management

– Is development- and results-oriented, proactive, and energetic

We are missing the following:

-A first-grade teacher who teaches all subjects and can teach physical education and home economics in the upper grades.

-A teacher who can teach various subjects in middle school and high school

Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement of August 27, 2014, between Naalakkersuisut and Ilinniartitsisut Meeqqat Atuarfianneersut Kattuffiat, IMAK, for teachers in Greenland’s public schools, among others, and the Master Agreement of October 28, 1998, between Naalakkersuisut and Ilinniartitsisut Meeqqat Atuarfianneersut Kattuffiat, IMAK.

Housing is provided, for which payment is made in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time.

Other terms of employment, including the right to relocation travel and household goods relocation, are governed by the agreements in effect at the time of employment between the Government of Greenland and Ilinniartitsisut Meeqqat Atuarfianneersut Kattuffiat (IMAK).

Applicants who are currently civil servants in Greenland will retain the right to this form of employment.

Housing:

Staff housing may be provided for this position; a security deposit, rent, utilities, etc., will be payable in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time regarding rent payments for properties owned by the Government of Greenland and the municipality, etc., in Greenland. If permanent company housing cannot be made available immediately upon starting employment, employees entitled to vacant housing will be offered temporary vacant housing, for which A-tax on non-cash benefits will be paid in accordance with applicable law. 

OR The start date depends on when staff housing becomes available. Travel expenses for the move and household goods relocation will be covered in accordance with applicable rules.

An employee residence must be vacated upon termination of employment. 

Criminal Record and Child Protection Certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring criminal and child protection background checks. Under the law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection background checks. We must therefore point out that the start date cannot be agreed upon until the municipality has received a child protection certificate from the National Police and a criminal record check from the police.

The child protection record is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual concerned, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual concerned from the police.
