The Qinngorneq Residential Facility in Aasiaat is seeking a dedicated and competent director who is passionate about leadership, development, and professional excellence in the field of specialized social services.
As a director, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of a relatively new residential facility with residents who have diverse needs. You must ensure that residents are treated with respect, care, and professionalism—and that staff members thrive and grow in their work.
About the Qinngorneq Housing Unit
The Qinngorneq Residential Facility is a 24-hour care facility for adults with permanent disabilities who need support in their daily lives. The Qinngorput Residential Facility consists of:
·A main building with 18 seats
·Another building with space for 10 more independent residents
·A satellite facility at Qimmeqarfik with 3 residents
·An affiliated workshop program.
Your job responsibilities:
·Overall responsibility for operations, personnel management, and professional development
·Ensure that the work is carried out in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and municipal guidelines
·Budget Responsibility and Reporting
·Cross-functional collaboration with authorities, family members, and external partners
·Focus on well-being, the work environment, and professional quality
We expect you to:
·Has relevant training in social work, education, or health care, with advanced training in psychiatry.
·Has experience with management and the target group (adults with disabilities or psychosocial challenges)
·Has knowledge of Greenlandic legislation in this area or is motivated to learn about it
·Can work in a structured and motivating manner, with an eye for both operations and development
·Has strong communication skills and is able to collaborate with a wide range of people

Housing:
Staff housing may be provided for this position; a security deposit, rent, utilities, etc., will be paid in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time regarding rent payments for properties owned by the Government of Greenland and municipalities in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon starting employment, employees entitled to vacant housing will be offered temporary vacant housing, for which A-tax on fringe benefits will be paid in accordance with applicable law.
OR The start date depends on when staff housing becomes available. Travel expenses for the move and household goods relocation will be covered in accordance with applicable rules.
An employee residence must be vacated upon termination of employment.
Criminal Record:
This position is subject to the law requiring a criminal background check. Under this law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received a criminal background check. We must therefore point out that the start date cannot be agreed upon until the municipality has received the criminal record check from the police.
