The Greenland Fisheries and Hunting Control Agency announces that salmon fishing by commercial fishermen will cease in the Nuuk-Paamiut and Southwest management areas.
All salmon nets in the aforementioned areas used by commercial fishermen must be retrieved no later than September 21.
GFJK continues to urge fishermen to report their catches as soon as possible after fishing. GFJK would also like to remind you that if you hold a license, you must report even if you have not fished, or if you have fished but caught nothing (zero catch). This must be done no later than October 2, 2026. If you do not report by October 2, 2026, you will not be issued a license to fish for salmon in 2027.
