When the finalists take the stage at Katuaq, they each have just five minutes to give the audience a better understanding of their research. But Paasisavut is more than just five research presentations.
Kimmernaq Kjeldsen will host the event and guide the audience through an evening of research, competition, and entertainment. In the audience, the judges—Ane Marie Ottosen, Nick Duelund, and Minik Rosing—are ready to evaluate the finalists’ presentations and ultimately crown the winner of Paasisavut 2026. The winner will receive 50,000 kroner.
The show will be broadcast live simultaneously on KNR, so the whole country can watch.
Admission to Paasisavut 2026 at Katuaq on November 13 is free, and everyone is welcome. Tickets can be reserved starting October 1 at Paasisavut.gl or through the event on Arctic Hub’s Facebook page.
Katuaq will provide interpretation equipment for interpretation into Greenlandic and Danish. KNR will broadcast the show in Greenlandic, and the spoken language in the studio will be broadcast on KNR2.

- Paasisavut is held every two years and has been held twice in the past.
- Ph.D. students and recent Ph.D. graduates conducting research on topics related to Greenland were eligible to apply for a spot in the finals from June 1 to September 1. There were a total of 21 applicants.
- An evaluation committee comprising representatives from the Greenlandic research and outreach community as well as Arctic Hub has reviewed the applications and selected five finalists, who will be announced shortly.
- The previous winners of Paasisavut are Nick Duelund and Regine Møller.
