On July 29, 2026, SIK and Naalakkersuisut signed a new collective bargaining agreement covering the period 2026–2028.
The negotiations took place in a positive and constructive atmosphere, and we can only express our satisfaction that the parties were able to reach a consensus on a joint outcome.
The term of the agreement has been set at two years this time, which is shorter than usual. This should be viewed, among other things, in light of the significant uncertainty in the global economy and its knock-on effects, including uncertainty regarding future price trends. Price trends are of great importance to SIK’s members.
The SIK area comprises approximately 6,645 full-time equivalents distributed across 18 different agreement areas, which cover a wide range of professional fields.
The outcome of the negotiations must now be submitted for a vote and approval by the respective constituencies of the parties. Once the outcome has been finally approved, the final agreements can take effect, and the agreed-upon wage adjustments can be implemented for the employees.
The agreements take effect on April 1, 2026, and remain in effect through March 31, 2028.
