The Municipality of Kujalleq has appointed Ivalo Nguujuk Adolfsen Arnfjord as the new director of early childhood education. Ivalo will begin on August 15, 2026.
With this appointment, the municipality gains a strong professional profile with extensive knowledge of preschool-aged children, educational development, and the daycare sector in Greenland. Ivalo Nguujuk Adolfsen Arnfjord is a trained social educator and also holds a diploma in educational psychology, a master’s degree in general education, and a Master of Education (cand.pæd.) in general education. She has also served as a Ph.D. fellow at Ilisimatusarfik.
For a number of years, Ivalo has been involved in educational development work at the Danish Agency for Education, including work on Meeqqerivitsialak. Among other things, she has worked on the implementation of legislation in the early childhood education sector, educational development plans, staff training and professional development, and the development of course and teaching materials for the preschool sector.

As a program director, Ivalo will play a key role in working to enhance the quality of education and support managers and staff at the municipality’s daycare centers.
