It has been decided that a new permanent storage area for kayaks may be built in Kirkebugten.
Accordingly, the municipality has prepared Municipal Plan Addendum No. 44 ILU 1200-C10, “Preservation Area for the Church, Museum, and Summer Cottages,” which is hereby publicly announced.
Kirkebugten is an area worthy of preservation that is used for both modern and traditional Greenlandic kayaking. The kayak club will be rebuilt in an expanded version with more facilities for club activities, including three designated areas for storing modern kayaks.
The purpose of this municipal plan amendment is to organize the storage of modern kayaks in Kirkebugten in a way that ensures the area maintains a positive appearance. This means that permanent storage space for kayaks used for tourism purposes may now be established within the Kirkebugten conservation area.
