The “Tunguusaq” Daycare Center is looking for an assistant director

If you have a degree in early childhood education, are looking to gain experience, and are creative, you’re exactly the person we’re looking for. Assistant Director position starting November 1, 2026, or as agreed.

The “Tunguusaq” daycare center has a facility with 44 spots for children ages 0–6. There are a total of 20 employees. The director is included in that number.

There are four daycare centers in Qaqortoq. There is good cooperation among the centers. In addition, they make a point of helping one another when needed.

Qaqortoq is a peaceful, educational, and beautiful city. Various activities are held throughout the year.

When you become the assistant manager at “Tunguusaq,” you will be responsible for the following:

  • Management of the facility in all matters, including administration.
  • Ensure that the house rules are followed
  • Active in parent involvement
  • Overseeing educational work and ongoing development
  • Good at working with others, mentally and physically strong
  • Is able to set boundaries
  • Is able to foster a sense of camaraderie among colleagues
  • Is able to provide guidance on problem-solving
  • Maintains a clear perspective in stressful situations
  • Has management experience
  • Loving and devoted to the children

Child Protection Certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring a child protection clearance. Under the law, employment may not begin until the municipality has obtained a child protection clearance. The child protection clearance will be taken into account in the municipality’s assessment of who should be hired for the position.

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreements between Naalakkersuisut and Nunatsinni Perorsaasut Kattuffiat. 

Housing may be provided for non-residents, for which payment is made in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time.
