The Municipality of Kujalleq is seeking a skilled, dedicated, and resilient social worker or case manager for the disability services department in Nanortalik, with relevant training in social work. The position is available starting June 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.
The disability services sector in the Municipality of Kujalleq has been under significant pressure for some time, leading the Government of Greenland to temporarily take over the administration of the sector.
In this context, the Department for Children and People with Disabilities has been established, and efforts are underway to significantly strengthen the areas under our responsibility, with the aim of ensuring the legal rights and well-being of the citizens concerned. As a case worker, you will play a crucial role in our work in the disability sector.
Since the department is not very large, you will be working with both children and adolescents as well as adults, including residents who, due to their disabilities, have been placed in care outside their homes. This means you will face a wide range of daily challenges, and as a professional, you will have ample opportunity to grow in your field.
We expect you to:
- Holds a bachelor's degree in social work or another relevant degree.
- Has experience with holistic case management
- Has strong collaboration skills and can work across disciplines, both internally and externally
- Has experience with administrative tasks
- Has strong communication and outreach skills when working with citizens, with a focus on helping them take control of their own lives
The job description includes the following:
- Ensure that cases involving disability issues are handled in accordance with applicable laws
- Preparation of reports, action plans, and grant applications
- Ensuring that the assistance provided is tailored to the citizen’s current needs
- Co-creation and active participation for effective collaboration and development within the department
The Social Services Department offers, among other things:
The disability services sector is currently evolving, which means that the right candidate will have the opportunity to make a difference—taking on responsibility and contributing to development, where you can play a key role in shaping the future of the field, working closely with your immediate supervisor and dedicated colleagues in the sector.
The workweek is 40 hours; you can expect to be included in the on-call duty schedule.
Certificate of No Criminal Record for Working with Children:
This position is subject to the law requiring the submission of a child protection certificate and a criminal record check. Under the law, employment may not begin until the municipality has received these certificates. The certificates will be taken into account in the municipality’s decision regarding who to hire for the position.
Salary and terms of employment will be determined in accordance with the collective agreement between Naalakkersuisut and Atorfillit Kattuffiat for social workers and case workers employed by the Self-Government and the Greenlandic municipalities.
Staff housing may be provided, for which rent and other expenses are paid in accordance with applicable rules. Similarly, free travel to the new location and relocation of household goods are provided upon hiring—and, after at least three years of employment, free travel and relocation of household goods upon termination—in accordance with applicable rules.

Applications, including a criminal record check and information regarding education and previous employment, along with supporting documents such as copies of diplomas, employer references, etc., must be uploaded as PDF files and submitted via the municipality’s website no later than May 29, 2026.
