“Tunguusaq” Daycare Center is looking for an educator

The position of educator will be filled as of September 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.

About Tunguusaq

The “Tunguusaq” daycare center has a facility with 44 spots for children ages 0–6. There are a total of 12 staff members. The director is included in that number.

There are four daycare centers in Qaqortoq. The directors work well together. They also make a point of helping each other out when needed.

Qaqortoq is a peaceful and beautiful town. Various activities are held throughout the year.

Child Protection Certificate

This position is subject to the law requiring a child protection clearance. Under the law, employment may not begin until the municipality has obtained a child protection clearance.

The child protection clearance will be part of the municipality’s assessment of who should be hired for the position

Salary and Terms of Employment

Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreements between Naalakkersuisut and Nunatsinni Perorsaasut Kattuffiat.

Housing

Unfurnished staff housing may be provided for the position of educator in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time. Rent is paid in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time for the assigned housing. Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the residence, ownership status, etc. Staff housing must be vacated upon termination of employment. There may be a waiting period for permanent staff housing, so temporary accommodations may be provided, including in small shared living arrangements or hotel apartments.
