The Municipality of Qeqertalik Kangaatsiaq, Kangaatsiap Atuarfia Iparartarfik, is seeking two qualified elementary school teachers. The school is looking for teachers for the subjects of Danish, mathematics, cultural studies, physical education and outdoor life, practical arts, and special education.

Appointment will be made pursuant to a collective bargaining agreement between the Government of Greenland and Ilinniartitsisut Meeqqat Atuarfianneersut Kattuffiat (IMAK). Applicants who currently hold a civil service position in Greenland will retain the right to this form of employment.
Salary and employment conditions, including the right to relocation travel and moving expenses, are governed by the agreements in effect at the time of employment between the Government of Greenland and Ilinniartitsisut Meeqqat Atuarfianneersut Kattuffiat (IMAK).
The appointment may also be made under special fixed-term conditions pursuant to an agreement between the Government of Greenland and IMAK, whereby a severance payment of 18,000 DKK is granted as an annual base amount as of April 1, 1991, which is now 20,253.72 DKK as of April 1, 2017, and one annual vacation trip for the employee and their family.
Criminal and child protection records:
This position is subject to the law requiring criminal and child protection background checks. Under the law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection background checks. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received a child protection certificate from the National Police and a criminal record check from the Police.
The Child Protection Certificate is obtained by the municipality with the individual’s consent, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
Housing:
Staff housing may be provided for this position; a security deposit, rent, utilities, etc., will be paid in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time regarding rent payments for properties owned by the Government of Greenland and the municipality, etc., in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon starting employment, employees entitled to vacant housing will be offered temporary vacant housing, for which A-tax on non-monetary benefits will be paid in accordance with applicable law.
OR The start date depends on when staff housing becomes available. Travel expenses for the move and household goods relocation will be covered in accordance with applicable regulations.
Staff housing must be vacated upon termination of employment.
