At Kujalleq Municipality, in our close work with children, we emphasize that children develop through creativity and innovation, and we are therefore looking for someone with experience in creative work with children.
Duties and Responsibilities:
You must share responsibility for complying with the Inatsisartut Act on Educational and Developmental Programs for Preschool-Age Children, No. 62 of November 20, 2023.
- Childcare
- Work closely with the child’s legal guardians and base your approach on the child’s current situation.
- Plan daily activities for the children
- Ensure that documentation is in order, including child files as well as MIIM 3 and MIIM 5.

What We Expect From You:
- A degree in education or a related field is a plus, but not a requirement.
- That you are proactive and can take responsibility.
- That you are willing to engage in pedagogical discussions about our work.
- That you can set boundaries with children.
We offer
- Salary and terms of employment, including the right to free travel in connection with taking up a position and moving household goods, in accordance with the agreements and collective bargaining agreements in effect at any given time between Naalakkersuisut and your authorized bargaining organization.
- Staff housing for the assistant director and educator, for whom rent, etc., is paid in accordance with applicable rules

Criminal Record and Child Protection Certificate:
This position is subject to the law requiring criminal and child protection background checks. Under the law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection background checks. We must therefore point out that the start date cannot be agreed upon until the municipality has received a child protection certificate from the National Police and a criminal record check from the police.
The child protection record is obtained by the municipality with the individual’s consent, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
Salary and Terms of Employment:
Salary and employment conditions are governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement between Naalakkersuisut and Nunatsinni Perorsaasut Kattuffiat (NPK) or another relevant organization authorized to negotiate.
Start date: To be agreed upon with the applicant
The position will include a 3-month probationary period
Housing:
Staff housing may be provided for this position, for which a security deposit, rent, utilities, etc., are payable in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time regarding rent payments for properties owned by the Government of Greenland and the municipality, etc., in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon taking up the position, employees entitled to vacant housing will be offered temporary vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc., will be paid in accordance with the above.
Relocation travel and household goods relocation are provided in accordance with applicable regulations.
