We are seeking a dedicated and visionary leader for Ajarsivasik, to begin on October 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed. You will have managerial responsibility for the entire facility, including three team leaders and a well-run kitchen led by a head chef. As a leader, you will play a central role in ensuring quality, well-being, and development.

Ajarsivasik is a retirement and nursing home with 48 residents divided among three units:

  • A dementia unit
  • A nursing unit
  • A unit for more independent residents

You will be responsible for managing the entire facility, including three team leaders and a kitchen led by a dietitian. As a manager, you will play a key role in ensuring quality, well-being, and development—for residents, their families, and staff alike.

Your main responsibilities

  • Ensuring quality and consistency in the operation of Ajarsivasik
  • Lead, motivate, and develop employees in a multidisciplinary environment
  • Develop professional expertise in the field of elder care and dementia care
  • Ensure compliance with policy decisions and financial frameworks
  • Work closely with the municipality's other nursing home directors and healthcare coordinators

  • Has extensive experience in the field of elder care and services for people with disabilities

Salary and Terms of Employment

Employment is governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Staff housing may be provided at the employee’s own expense in accordance with applicable rules. The municipality covers travel and moving expenses in accordance with applicable regulations.

Salary and employment conditions are governed by the agreements in effect at any given time between the Government of Greenland and the relevant organization authorized to negotiate.

Upon relocation, housing may be provided, for which a security deposit and rent are paid in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time; in addition, travel expenses for moving in and the relocation of household goods are covered—and, after at least 3 years of employment – travel expenses upon termination of employment and household goods relocation in accordance with applicable regulations.
