Qeqqata Municipality has 3,062 private debtors who, collectively, owe the municipality 82.5 million kroner.

If receivables other than those from private individuals are also included, the municipality has a total of 105.8 million kroner in receivables as of June 30, 2026.
Child support is the largest expense
The largest single item is the so-called A-contributions, totaling 65.6 million kroner. These are child support payments that the municipality disburses as an advance to the parent with custody when the parent obligated to pay does not pay on their own. The amount must then be collected from the parent obligated to pay.
According to the financial statements, 1,014 residents have debt related to A-contributions, broken down into 13,477 individual claims. This corresponds to an average debt of approximately 65,000 kroner per person and just over 13 unpaid claims per person.
