Among the award recipients was Vivian Motzfeldt, who received the network’s special honorary award for her work on behalf of the Realm and for Denmark’s international relations during a period of intense focus on the Arctic.
Praise for his integrity
At the award ceremony, the chair of the Goodwill Ambassadors, former mayor of Copenhagen Jens Kramer Mikkelsen, highlighted Motzfeldt’s role at a time when Greenland was receiving international attention.
“Vivian has raised awareness of our Realm at a time when it needed strong voices the most. She has done so with a sense of integrity that inspires people far beyond the borders of Greenland and Denmark,” said Jens Kramer Mikkelsen at the award ceremony.
In her speech, Vivian Motzfeldt emphasized unity and dialogue.
“The most difficult times do not call for the loudest voices, but for people who can stand together, listen, and find their way forward together. We cannot always choose the times in which we are called upon to lead, but we can choose how we face them,” she said.
Copenhagen Goodwill Ambassadors includes more than 40 Danish business leaders in senior positions in more than 25 countries. The organization works pro bono to strengthen Copenhagen’s and Denmark’s international standing and has His Royal Highness Prince Joachim as its patron.
