Peqqissaanermik Ilinniarfik (PI) has officially inaugurated its new technology learning center. The opening speech was delivered by Naalakkersuisoq for Education, Nivi Olsen, who marked the occasion together with representatives from the Department of Education, the school’s partners, staff, and students.
The new center is intended to enhance instruction in health care programs through simulation-based learning and the use of new technology. Among other things, students will have access to VR headsets, which allow them to practice real-world scenarios in virtual environments, as well as 3D printers, which are designed to foster creativity and innovative teaching methods.
Both staff and students had put a great deal of effort into preparing for the event, particularly with the school’s so-called “Skills Stations,” which were a central part of the opening ceremony. Here, guests were able to see for themselves how technology will be integrated into teaching in the future.
According to the school, the commitment and creativity of the students and staff helped make the day special and ensured a festive and successful opening.
Next step: Implementation in the classroom
Now that the official opening is over, the work of fully integrating the technology-based learning center into daily operations lies ahead. The goal is for the center to enhance learning and simulation, as well as the use of new technological methods in teaching students at Peqqissaanermik Ilinniarfik.
The school states that it looks forward to continuing its work and is proud of the results that are now available.
