This year marks the 60th anniversary of Nanortalik and Roskilde becoming sister cities. This long-standing friendship will be celebrated when Roskilde’s mayor, along with committee chairs and city officials, visits Nanortalik and Qaqortoq from August 24 to 28.
The visit will be an opportunity both to look back on our long-standing friendship and to strengthen the relationship between the two municipalities going forward.
– In Nanortalik, we will celebrate 60 years of friendship together and sign a renewed friendship agreement. The guests will also visit various municipal institutions and take a field trip to the Nalunaq gold mine. “We look forward to welcoming the delegation and showing them some of what our municipality has to offer,” says Randi Vestergaard Evaldsen, municipal director of Kommune Kujalleq.
The visit continues in Qaqortoq, where the delegation is scheduled to meet with, among others, Mayor Malene Vahl Rasmussen, the Finance and Business Committee, Innovation South Greenland, and Annga Lynge, the director of early childhood education, education, the labor market, and culture.
There will also be an opportunity to experience some of Qaqortoq’s history and culture when the delegation takes a tour of the museum, among other activities.
