At the start of the 2026–2027 school year, classes at Narsaq School began with a teaching staff consisting entirely of certified teachers.
On Monday, August 10, the new school year began at Narsaq School, where both returning students and new first-graders gathered for the start of the school year.
– It’s something we’re very proud of at Narsaq School: that all our teachers are certified. “I am very grateful that we can once again start a new school year with dedicated and qualified teachers,” says Kattie Egede Motzfeldt, head teacher at Narsaq School.
The situation regarding teachers in Narsaq is significantly different today than it was ten years ago. Today, the school has a strong teaching staff, with teachers who stand together and work well as a team.
“It’s clear that the teachers work well together, and our collaborative discussions about teaching are getting stronger all the time. Next, I’m working on strengthening our shared understanding of pedagogical insight,” says Kattie Egede Motzfeldt.
Narsaq School has 28 teachers who teach 166 students in grades 1 through 10.
