At the 2025 Emergency Preparedness Award ceremony, Poul Erik Frederiksen, owner of South Greenland Boat Charter 44, was honored.
The reason for the honor is his many acts of voluntary assistance in response to sailing-related problems, as well as rescue operations that have saved lives.
-With a focus on safety, the company’s ongoing volunteer assistance during incidents at sea—which has also led to the rescue of people—has been recognized by both the public and emergency response authorities. The helpfulness they demonstrate through their efforts is a very valuable gift to the community and deserves great recognition. Therefore, it is entirely appropriate to award the Municipality of Kujalleq the Emergency Response Award, said Mayor Malene Vahl Rasmussen, among other remarks, at the award ceremony.
The Municipality of Kujalleq’s 2025 Emergency Preparedness Award was presented on June 19, 2026, in the municipal council chamber in Qaqortoq.
