Asmus Hansen, who has worked in emergency management for more than 40 years, is retiring from his position as emergency management director in the Municipality of Kujalleq.
A warm and welcoming person, respectful of others, modest and down-to-earth—these are some of the traits that describe Asmus.
Asmus Hansen became a firefighter on February 1, 1982. After serving as fire chief in Narsaq since 2014, he was appointed emergency management director for the Municipality of Kujalleq in 2020.
– On behalf of the Municipality of Kujalleq, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Asmus for his many years of dedicated service in the fire and rescue services. He has carried out his work with great respect and has helped create a strong foundation for the training and ongoing development of our firefighters. I have no doubt that the results of his efforts will live on after his retirement, and that he will be remembered by his former colleagues. Asmus Hansen retired from his position as emergency services director on May 31, 2026.
