“Ersinngitsup matua” highlights homelessness and the difficult choices that people without a permanent home may face.
On Monday, residents of Nuuk will have the opportunity to attend a free theater performance with a powerful social message. *Ersinngitsup matua* will be performed on June 15 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Katuaq
The play is about becoming homeless and life on the streets. The audience follows a story about losing one’s home and trying to find a warm place to stay—but where help doesn’t necessarily come without strings attached.
“I asked my friend if I could crash on his couch tonight, but he has some conditions… now I have to resort to crime again…,” goes part of the show’s narrative.
The story also highlights the feeling of falling behind in life and the need for support when everyday life becomes difficult.
Ersinngitsup matua was created in collaboration with students from Kofoeds Skole Nuuk.
The performance is free for everyone and is funded by the Nuna Foundation.
The age limit is 16.
