Greenlanders and Danes are invited to a discussion on prejudice, community, and culture at the Greenlandic House in Odense on June 6, 2026. Greenland has been very much in the spotlight this year, and Uagut wants to use this attention to make a difference for the several thousand Greenlanders living in Denmark.
Uagut – the National Organization for Greenlanders in Denmark – invites Greenlanders, Danes, and anyone interested in Greenlandic culture to an open dialogue event in collaboration with the Greenlandic House in Odense.
The event will take place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Nordatlantisk Promenade 1, 5000 Odense C.
The purpose of the meeting is to create a space for honest dialogue about the challenges many Greenlanders face in Denmark, including prejudice and discrimination. However, the dialogue meeting also aims to celebrate the community and culture that bind us together within the Realm.
The program features presentations, music, group singing, as well as food and coffee—all in a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere where everyone’s voice can be heard.
“There are many Greenlandic voices in Denmark, and when we stand together, we can create
a stronger collective voice. This is essential if we are to break down the prejudices and discrimination
that far too many people still experience in Danish society. Together, we can
change the narrative and build trust and respect for the benefit of future generations,”
says Julie Rademacher, director of Uagut.
The event is open to everyone—Greenlanders, Danes, families, and friends.
Registration is required to ensure there is enough food and coffee for all participants.
