We are looking for a therapy assistant/interpreter who can help make daily life more fulfilling for the municipality’s residents and serve as a key support for us therapists.
Your responsibilities will include both hands-on and administrative tasks, such as:
- Interpretation services for therapists, including during phone calls, home visits to clients, and training sessions at Terapeuthuset. There will also be written translation tasks.
- Provide practical assistance to therapists during exercise sessions with clients, for example, by helping to adjust and set up exercise equipment and ensuring that clients perform the exercises correctly.
- Ensure that assistive devices are distributed, shipped, and collected from/to residents, document these processes, and perform general maintenance and repairs on assistive devices.
- administrative tasks, particularly those related to assistive technology cases, but also as part of carrying out practical tasks and communicating with our partners.
- Cleaning of the gym, office, exercise equipment, and assistive devices.
We are looking for someone who:
- is fluent in Greenlandic and Danish, both spoken and written.
- is reliable, flexible, accommodating, and adaptable.
- has good organizational skills, is solution-oriented, and is good at managing multiple tasks.
- can contribute a positive attitude and dedication to the workplace.
- has general knowledge of and proficiency with computers.
Certificate of No Criminal Record for Working with Children:
This position is subject to the law requiring a background check for work with children. Under the law, employment may not begin until the municipality has obtained a background check for work with children.
The background check will be taken into account in the municipality’s decision regarding who to hire for the position.
Salary and terms of employment in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Our team currently consists of three physical therapists, one part-time occupational therapist, and one therapy assistant/interpreter, and our primary client groups are people with disabilities (including children) and older adults.
We place a high priority on effective communication and collaboration within the team, where we draw on each other’s strengths and qualities to provide the best possible services for our clients.
We’ll help each other out wherever we can, and you’ll, of course, receive training and guidance on how to use assistive devices and training equipment/exercises, as well as on administrative tasks such as emails, documents, and communication with other partners.
Working hours: 40 hours per week, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Employment terms to be agreed upon. We are conducting interviews on an ongoing basis.
