About the Daycare Center.

There are 22 children and 8 staff members at the Aqqalu daycare center in Qaqortoq, and the daycare center director is their immediate supervisor.

The Aqqaluk daycare center is open from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

We are looking for two social workers for the daycare center in Aqqalu. 

At the Municipality of Kujalleq’s daycare center, we emphasize children’s development through creativity and innovation, which is why we are looking for someone with experience in creative work with children. We are looking for someone who can take on educational responsibilities, is flexible regarding changing work schedules, has a strong mindset, and can serve as a role model.

Duties and Responsibilities:

You must share responsibility for complying with the Inatsisartut Act on Educational and Developmental Programs for Preschool-Aged Children, No. 62 of November 20, 2023. You have experience in establishing a framework for managing a daycare center. You are able to establish open and trusting communication with those responsible for the child.

We will strive to create a daily routine that strikes a balance between predictability—based on daily rhythms and a sense of time—and unpredictability—based on the children’s influence on the center’s culture. It is important that we work together to build a healthy and nurturing environment for all our children. That is why we place a high priority on the work environment.

  • Salary and terms of employment, including the right to free travel in connection with taking up a position and moving household goods, in accordance with the agreements and collective bargaining agreements in effect at any given time between Naalakkersuisut and your authorized bargaining organization.

Criminal Record and Child Protection Certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring criminal and child protection background checks. Under this law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection background checks. We must therefore point out that the start date cannot be agreed upon until the municipality has received a child protection certificate from the National Police and a criminal record check from the Police.

The child protection record is obtained by the municipality with the individual’s consent, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

Salary and Terms of Employment:

Salary and employment terms are governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement between Naalakkersuisut and Nunatsinni Perorsaasut Kattuffiat (NPK) or another relevant organization authorized to negotiate.

Start date: To be agreed upon with the applicant

The position will include a 3-month probationary period.
