Majoriaq Narsaq is seeking a skilled and dedicated subject teacher, effective August 1, 2026, or as agreed
The primary responsibilities of a subject teacher/advisor will be:
- Teaching in the FA program: Greenlandic, Danish, mathematics, and English; candidates must be able to teach at least two of these subjects.
- Plan and conduct professional development courses (FA programs)
- Scheduling, absence tracking, and tracking of teacher hours
- Conduct interviews with applicants for the FA program
- Guide students
- Make entries in the IT registry
We expect you to:
- Has completed the educational and career counseling training program or possesses equivalent professional qualifications approved by Naalakkersuisut
- Has a relevant education and, preferably, experience in some of the areas of work.
- Can work independently and systematically
- Is service-oriented, with good teamwork skills and a positive attitude
- Is fluent in Greenlandic and Danish, both written and spoken
- Is reliable, dedicated, and positive in their approach to work, colleagues, students, and residents
- Proficient in language subjects (Greenlandic, Danish, and English)
- Is familiar with the education system
Employment and compensation will be governed by AK’s collective bargaining agreement for employees of the Greenland Self-Government and the Greenlandic municipalities.
For those relocating from outside the area, staff housing may be made available, for which rent and other expenses will be paid in accordance with applicable rules, including the right to relocation travel and moving expenses, as provided by applicable rules.
