Educator/Social Worker for Residential Facility B-1443:
We are looking for 1 dedicated educator/social worker who would like to work at a well-run residential facility for children ages 4–10 in Qaqortoq. Start date: November 1, 2026, or as agreed.
We are looking for an educator or social worker to work at a children’s home. The facility is located in a large house in the heart of the city. It is designed to accommodate 6 children. The work at the unit involves providing the children with the opportunity to develop in a safe and caring environment with clear guidelines and consistent adults. We place a strong emphasis on building relationships and fostering attachment. We base our work on infant therapy and an appreciative approach to the children. It is important that the child feels respected, accepted, understood, and acknowledged.

Child Protection Certificate:
This position is subject to the law requiring the submission of a child protection clearance. Under the law, employment may not begin until the municipality has obtained a child protection clearance.
The child protection background check will be part of the municipality’s assessment of who to hire for the position.
For this position, applicants must be trained educators or social workers and, preferably, bilingual.
Salary and Employment Conditions
Wage and employment terms, including the right to travel upon hiring and upon termination of employment, as well as the relocation of household goods, in accordance with the agreement/collective bargaining agreement in effect at the time of employment between the Government of Greenland and the municipalities and the relevant bargaining organization.
Residential Area
Unfurnished staff housing may be provided for the position of educator/social worker in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time. Rent and a security deposit are paid in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time for the assigned housing. Rent and housing standards may vary depending on the age of the property, ownership status, etc. The staff housing must be vacated when employment ends. There may be a waiting period for permanent staff housing, which is why temporary accommodations may be provided, including in small shared living arrangements or hotel apartments.
