Social worker wanted for the Tikiusaaq recreational program, to start on September 15, 2026, or as agreed.
“Tikiusaaq” is an after-school program with space for 100 children, divided among 3 rooms. There are a total of 13 employees at Tikiusaaq, including 1 kitchen manager and 1 custodian.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work based on the objectives of the children and youth policy in Avannaata Kommunia
- Is able to introduce new forms of pedagogy
- Helping to ensure a safe and secure recreational environment for children, parents, and staff
- Is able to create informational brochures about recreational activities
- Work based on new ideas and in accordance with policy goals
- Work closely with the manager on a daily basis
Qualifications:
- Certified Social Worker
- Experience working in daycare
- Responsible, attuned to developments, and capable of driving change in work processes
- Can remain calm even in stressful situations; flexible; easy to work with; friendly and reliable
- Physically and mentally healthy, open, and cheerful
- Ready to work based on the recreational program’s objectives and action plans
There is no staff housing associated with this position.
Salaries and terms of employment are governed by the applicable collective bargaining agreement between the Government of Greenland and the relevant bargaining organization.
This position is subject to the law requiring the submission of a criminal record and child protection clearance. The applicant must provide consent for this, after which the necessary documentation will be obtained from the National Police.
