Position as a social worker for children and youth in the Family Services Department in Ilulissat. Start date: August 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.

The primary job responsibilities are as follows:
·Handling child welfare cases in accordance with the current law on support for children.
·Preparing case notes.
·Gathering information related to cases.
·Handling reports concerning children.
·Handling cases regarding support for children and families.
·Social work assessments.
·Conducting interviews with children, as well as collaborating with and interviewing parents with legal custody. 
·Preparing action plans.
·Handling urgent child welfare cases.
·Coordinating cases, including referrals, planning visitation between children and parents in connection with out-of-home placements, initiating family counseling cases, processing cases related to out-of-home placements, changes in placement locations, and the return of children to their homes. 
·Processing various types of applications.
·Evaluating cases.
·Annual supervision of children and youth placed outside the home.
·Case management based on the municipality’s regulatory responsibilities.
·Interdisciplinary collaboration on cases and participation in meetings to ensure consistent case management in day-to-day operations.
·Collaborating with colleagues on case management, professional discussions, and holding meetings for consultation.
·Preparing case briefs for committees. 
·Key tasks related to reporting outside the organization.
·Contribute to the department’s operations and other tasks as agreed, in collaboration with colleagues and management, through respectful and goal-oriented cooperation. 

Desired Qualifications:
·Certified social worker or similar relevant social work degree.
·Interest in and willingness to develop professional skills in this field.
·Experience handling child welfare cases, including documented experience working under the Act on Support for Children and Youth.
·Ability to collaborate with colleagues and management.
·Ability to work in accordance with organizational and managerial guidelines as a social worker.
·A role model with strong communication skills when interacting with clients.
·Mentally resilient and able to handle conflicts.
·Able to work based on priorities, reliable, and responsible.
·Stable and thorough.
·Speaks and writes both Greenlandic and Danish.
·Ability to listen, be open-minded, and cooperative. 

Salary and Employment Terms:
Salary and employment terms are determined in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreements between the municipality and the organizations authorized to negotiate.

Staff housing is provided.
