The retirement home in Upernavik is seeking three social and health care assistants to begin work on October 1, 2026. 

The employees’ immediate supervisor is the director of the retirement home.

Your job responsibilities:

  • Can work with residents' physical and mental health 
  • Planning Work Tasks
  • Basic observation, nursing, and care tasks
  • Training for Staff and Students
  • Mobilizing and Engaging Residents
  • Collaboration with Family Members
  • Good communication skills and computer skills

  • Has completed training as a social and health care assistant or social and health care aide

Salary and Terms of Employment:

Salary and terms of employment are governed by the collective bargaining agreement in effect between Naalakkersuisut and the authorized bargaining organization at the time of hire. 

Housing is not provided for this position.

Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check and a child protection background check; the employer will obtain these from the National Police after the applicant has signed the necessary forms.
