The Sikkerneq Daycare Center in Ilulissat, Avannaata Municipality, is seeking a director to begin employment on November 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.
The manager’s immediate supervisor is the Director of Day Care Services for Avannaata Kommunia
Duties and Responsibilities:
·Work based on the policy objectives for children and youth in the Avannaata Municipality
·Improving the quality of staff members’ professional and personal skills through internal and external theme days, professional activities, and courses
· Introduce new pedagogical approaches
·Ensure a safe and secure daycare center for children, parents, and staff
·Prepare an informational brochure about the daycare center
·Work purposefully to implement new ideas and policies
·Close daily collaboration with the sous chef

·Experience with personnel management and administration in a daycare center

·Be committed to working in accordance with the daycare center’s objectives and action plans
Salary and Terms of Employment:
Salary and terms of employment are governed by the collective bargaining agreement in effect between Naalakkersuisut and the authorized bargaining organization at the time of hire.
Housing is provided for this position.
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check, which the employer will obtain from the National Police after the applicant has signed the necessary documents.
