Certified supervisor wanted

Are you interested in supporting caseworkers who work with children and young people? If so, you might be the person we’re looking for.

The Family Services Department of the Municipality of Avannaata is seeking two supervisors to begin on July 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.

The supervisor will be responsible for supervising caseworkers for children and youth within the Family Department of Avannaata Municipality, including staff at the family center and youth center, and, not least, foster families. It is therefore desirable and important that the candidate has experience in this field or holds a professional degree. The supervisor reports directly to the Head of the Children and Youth Division within the Administration.

Educational background:

·A qualified psychologist, social worker, or similar.

·Certified supervisor

Duties and responsibilities will include:

·Supervision of individual employees or groups of employees

·Report Writing

·Guidance for foster families

·Tasks related to employee well-being

·Close collaboration with local leaders and coordinators

·Advising parties in a dispute

·Participate in trips to towns in the Avannaata municipality in connection with supervision work.

·Can help improve a department with a wide range of tasks

Salary and Terms of Employment

Hiring is subject to an agreement between the Government of Greenland and the applicant’s bargaining unit.

Staff housing may be provided, for which rent, a security deposit, etc., are paid in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time.
