The Municipality of Qeqertalik, Kangaatsiaq, is seeking a deputy director for the Qupannaat Preschool, to begin on June 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.
Meeqqerivik Qupannaat is an institution that opened on September 1, 2001.
The Qupannaat daycare center is divided into two age groups; there are three classrooms—two for infants and one for preschoolers.
General information for the preschool / daycare center:
·This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. The daycare center has three different age groups: the first for children aged 0–2, the second for children aged 2–3, with 24 spots for children aged 0–2 and 20 spots for children aged 3–6.
·The administration of the daycare centers falls under the jurisdiction of INUIT.
Applicant’s qualifications:
·Certified early childhood educator.
·Experience with personnel management and administration in a daycare center.
·Be responsible, have a good overview, and demonstrate empathy and adaptability.
·Be able to handle stressful situations, be flexible, cooperative, approachable, and reliable.
·Good physical and mental health, and an open and cheerful disposition.
·Be committed to working in accordance with the daycare center’s objectives and action plans.

Salary and employment terms will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
Criminal and Child Protection Background Checks: This position is subject to the law requiring criminal and child protection background checks. In accordance with the law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection background checks. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received a child protection certificate from the National Police and a criminal record check from the Police.
The Child Protection Certificate is obtained by the municipality with the individual’s consent, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
Housing is not provided for this position.
