Mako Aleqa Ilulissat, Avannaata Komminia, is seeking an Assistant Manager starting November 1, 2026, or as agreed.
The sous chef’s immediate supervisor at Mako Aleq is Tanja Samuelsen.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work based on the policy objectives for children and youth in Avannaata Municipality
- Improving the quality of staff’s professional and personal competencies through internal and external theme days, professional activities, and courses
- Introducing New Pedagogical Methods
- Ensure a safe and secure daycare center for children, parents, and staff
- Prepare an informational brochure about the daycare center
- Work purposefully with new ideas and policies
- Daily close collaboration with the manager

- Experience with staff management and administration in a daycare center

Salary and Terms of Employment:
Salary and terms of employment are governed by the collective bargaining agreement in effect between Naalakkersuisut and the authorized bargaining organization at the time of hire.
Housing is not provided for this position.
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check and child protection clearance; the employer will obtain these from the National Police after the applicant has signed the necessary forms.
