The Municipality of Qeqertalik, Kangaatsiaq, and the Qupannaat Preschool are seeking 1 nutrition assistant to start on August 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.

General information about the preschool / daycare:

This is a full-time position.

There is room for 44 children 

The administration of the preschools falls under the jurisdiction of INUIT.

Applicant’s qualifications:

·Trained nutrition assistant.

·Experience planning and preparing healthy and varied meals. 

·Be able to handle stressful situations, be flexible, cooperative, approachable, and reliable.

·Good physical and mental health and an open and cheerful disposition.

·Prepares healthy, vitamin-rich meals. 

·Work based on goals and action plans in daycare settings. 

Salary and Terms of Employment:

·Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

·Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check and child protection clearance, which the employer will obtain from the National Police Agency with the consent of the applicant who is recommended for hire.

Criminal Record and Child Protection Certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring criminal and child protection background checks. Under this law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection background checks. We must therefore point out that the start date cannot be agreed upon until the municipality has received a child protection certificate from the National Police and a criminal record check from the police.

The child protection record is obtained by the municipality with the individual’s consent, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
