Are you our new land surveyor who’s eager to learn and grow?

You’ll have the opportunity to work in some of the world’s most spectacular landscapes and take part in fieldwork throughout Greenland.

What can we offer?
As a land surveyor at Asiaq, you’ll have the opportunity to work on exciting and varied projects. The office is located in Nuuk, but during the summer months we conduct fieldwork throughout Greenland. The position combines responsibility and autonomy in a dynamic, interdisciplinary work environment where we place a high priority on open dialogue and collegial collaboration.

Your main responsibilities will include technical surveying using GNSS and a total station, as well as maintenance of the reference network. This involves planning, data processing, and reporting. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in bathymetric and drone surveying, which are used to produce surface models and orthophotos for use in GIS or 3D visualizations.

We use advanced equipment such as Trimble S7 total stations with TSC7 controllers, Trimble R12 GNSS, and both fixed-wing and quadcopter drones for surveying. Below the water’s surface, we use single- and multibeam echo sounders. Data collection is planned and processed using software such as MicroStation, Trimble Business Center, ArcGIS, and Pix4D.

Who are you?
We are looking for a surveyor with experience or knowledge of technical surveying using a total station and GNSS, as well as data verification and post-processing in CAD or GIS.

You’re curious, eager to learn, and open to taking on new tasks. At Asiaq, we work across disciplines, and we’d like you to be eager to learn and pitch in in areas where you can expand your skills and contribute your expertise. You are a team player, thorough, and a good communicator, and you are committed to building strong relationships both within the team and externally with clients. You must be in good physical condition and ready to participate in fieldwork under Arctic conditions. A Class B driver’s license is required, as you will need to drive as part of your job duties.

Who is Asiaq?
Asiaq is a network-managed organization under the Government of Greenland with 21 employees. We are based in Nuuk and work to map and document Greenland’s physical environment. Our work benefits the business community, the public sector, the research community, and society as a whole.

Asiaq offers a highly professional environment in an informal and open workplace, where we work closely together across disciplines. We provide geospatial infrastructure and data used in climate research, mineral exploration, nature conservation, and construction design.
