The retirement home in Qaanaaq is seeking a kitchen manager to fill the position as soon as possible or by mutual agreement, with the start date set for July 1, 2026.
The kitchen manager’s immediate supervisor is the director of the nursing home in Qaanaaq
Duties and responsibilities:
·Operating the kitchen in collaboration with the nursing home director.
·Maintenance of tools.
·Ordering food.
·Budget review.
·A stable and responsible staff.
·Meal plan, staff schedule, and vacation schedule.
·Kitchen apprentices.
·Find a vacation replacement.
·Assigning tasks to kitchen staff and cleaning staff
Special requirements:
·Training as a chef or similar.
·Experience in planning and managing a food budget.
·Responsible.
·Active and committed.
·Keep an overview, be flexible.
·Cooperative, friendly, and reliable.
·Good physical and mental health.
·Visionary and innovative when it comes to healthy food.
Salary and employment terms:
Salary and terms of employment are governed by the collective agreement in effect at the time of employment between Naalakkersuisut and the authorized bargaining organization.
Housing is not provided for this position.
Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check, which the employer will request from the National Police after the applicant has signed the necessary documents.
