The Municipality of Qeqertalik, Aasiaat, is seeking one assistant director of social education to start on July 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed. The Tikiusaaq Daycare Center serves children aged 0–3. The Tikiusaaq Daycare Center has four classrooms. 

General information about the Tikiusaaq Daycare Center:

·This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.  

·The administration of the Tikiusaaq Daycare Center is the responsibility of INUIT.

Applicant’s qualifications:

·Be responsible, have a good overview, and demonstrate empathy and adaptability.

·Be able to handle stressful situations, be flexible, cooperative, approachable, and reliable.

·Good physical and mental health, and an open and cheerful disposition.

·Be committed to working in accordance with the daycare center’s objectives and action plans.

·A person who can take over the manager’s responsibilities when the manager is absent.

Salary and employment terms:

·Salary and employment terms will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

·Employment is contingent upon the submission of a satisfactory criminal record check and a child protection clearance, which the employer will obtain from the National Police Agency following the consent of the applicant who is recommended for hire.

Criminal record and child protection clearance:

This position is subject to the law requiring criminal and child protection background checks. Under the law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection background checks. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received a child protection certificate from the National Police and a criminal record check from the Police.

The Child Protection Certificate is obtained by the municipality with the individual’s consent, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
