The Municipality of Qeqertalik, Aasiaat, is seeking one social worker to start on July 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed. The Tikiusaaq Daycare Center serves children aged 0–3. The Tikiusaaq Daycare Center has four classrooms. 

General information about the Tikiusaaq Daycare Center:

·This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.  

·The administration of daycare centers falls under the jurisdiction of INUIT.

Applicant’s qualifications:

·Be responsible, have a good overview, and demonstrate empathy and adaptability.

·Be able to handle stressful situations, be flexible, cooperative, approachable, and reliable.

·Good physical and mental health, and an open and cheerful disposition.

·Be committed to working in accordance with the daycare center’s objectives and action plans.

Criminal record and child protection clearance:

This position is subject to the law requiring the submission of criminal and child protection background checks. Under the law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection background checks. We must therefore note that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received a child protection certificate from the National Police and a criminal record check from the Police.

The Child Protection Certificate is obtained by the municipality with the individual’s consent, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.

·Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
