The Municipality of Qeqertalik, Aasiaat: The “Vâva” Daycare Center is seeking a certified early childhood educator or someone with relevant training to begin employment on October 15, 2026, or as otherwise agreed.

Conditions at the preschool:

·The position at the preschool is a full-time position of 40 hours per week. The nursery has a staffing ratio of 36.

·The daycare center is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

·Preschool operations fall under the Children and Inuit Department; the Educational Coordinator provides advice and guidance to preschools.

Application Requirements:

·Holds a degree in early childhood education or a relevant degree; is responsible, hardworking, and dedicated; is open to change; possesses professional knowledge; remains calm in stressful situations; is cooperative, supportive, and reliable. Physically and mentally healthy, ready to work in accordance with the preschool’s objectives, action plans, and various guidelines in effect in the Municipality of Qeqertalik. 

·Applicants who are fluent in Greenlandic and Danish will be given preference.

Salary and Terms of Employment:

Salary and employment conditions are governed by applicable rules and collective bargaining agreements.

Housing is not provided with this position. 

Criminal Record and Child Protection Check:

This position is subject to the law requiring criminal and child protection background checks. Under this law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection background checks. We must therefore point out that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received a child protection certificate from the National Police and a criminal record check from the police.

The child protection record is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual concerned, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual concerned from the police.
