The Municipality of Qeqertalik, Aasiaat, is seeking 1 social worker to begin on October 1, 2026, or as otherwise agreed. The Tikiusaaq Daycare Center serves children ages 0–3. The Tikiusaaq daycare center has four classrooms. 

General information about the Tikiusaaq Daycare Center:

·This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week. 

·The administration of daycare centers falls under the jurisdiction of INUIT.

Applicant’s qualifications:

·Be responsible, have a good overview, and demonstrate empathy and adaptability.

·Be able to handle stressful situations, be flexible, cooperative, approachable, and reliable.

·Good physical and mental health and an open and cheerful disposition.

·Be committed to working in accordance with the daycare center’s goals and action plans.

Criminal Record and Child Protection Certificate:

This position is subject to the law requiring criminal and child protection background checks. In accordance with the law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection background checks. We must therefore point out that the start date cannot be agreed upon until the municipality has received a child protection clearance from the National Police and a criminal record check from the police.

The child protection record is obtained by the municipality with the person’s consent, while the criminal record is obtained by the person from the police.

Salary and Terms of Employment:

·Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

·Employment is contingent upon the submission of a satisfactory criminal background check and a child protection clearance, which the employer will obtain from the National Police Agency with the consent of the applicant recommended for hire.
