The Municipality of Qeqertalik, Aasiaat, is seeking one assistant director of social education to begin on July 1, 2026.  Or as otherwise agreed, the Tikiusaaq Daycare Center serves children ages 0–3. The Tikiusaaq Daycare Center has four classrooms. 

General Information about the Tikiusaaq Daycare Center:

·This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.  

·The administration of the Tikiusaaq Daycare Center falls under the jurisdiction of INUIT.

Applicant’s qualifications:

·Be responsible, have a good overview, and demonstrate empathy and adaptability.

·Be able to handle stressful situations, be flexible, cooperative, approachable, and reliable.

·Good physical and mental health and an open and cheerful disposition.

·Be committed to working in accordance with the daycare center’s goals and action plans.

·A person who can take over the manager’s responsibilities when the manager is absent.

Salary and Terms of Employment:

·Salary and terms of employment will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.

·Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory criminal background check and child protection clearance, which the employer will obtain from the National Police Agency with the consent of the applicant who is recommended for hire.

There is no housing available 

Criminal Record and Child Protection Certificates:

This position is subject to the law requiring criminal and child protection background checks. Under this law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection background checks. We must therefore point out that the start date cannot be agreed upon until the municipality has received a child protection certificate from the National Police and a criminal record check from the police.

The child protection record is obtained by the municipality with the consent of the individual concerned, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual concerned from the police.
