The Municipality of Qeqertalik Aasiaat aims to strengthen its work with children and families and is therefore seeking management staff for its family centers. The municipal council is strongly committed to improving its work with vulnerable families and ensuring that families receive the best possible support.

About the position:

-You will be the department head and will be responsible for ensuring that family and child-related services at the facility are tailored to the needs

-Can provide family therapy and, ideally, be able to offer crisis support

-Ensure good cooperation with the Inuit department

-Actively participate in the development of the area, in collaboration with other managers in the area

-Participates in community development efforts as needed

-We are looking for a psychotherapist/family counselor who can join the multidisciplinary team supporting the child and family, and who is passionate about the complex and meaningful work of supporting families dealing with child neglect, families who have experienced trauma, and families in general who need help.

Salary and employment conditions:

Salary and employment conditions are governed by the collective agreement in effect at the time of employment between Naalakkersuisut and the authorized bargaining organization. 

Housing:

Staff housing may be provided for this position, for which a security deposit, rent, utilities, etc., must be paid in accordance with the rules in effect at any given time regarding rent payments for properties owned by the Government of Greenland and the municipality, etc., in Greenland. If permanent staff housing cannot be made available immediately upon commencement of employment, employees entitled to vacant housing will be offered temporary vacant housing, for which rent, utilities, etc., will be paid in accordance with the above. Criminal and Child Protection Records:
This position is subject to the law requiring the submission of criminal and child protection records. In accordance with the law, employment cannot begin until the municipality has received satisfactory criminal and child protection records. We must therefore note that the start date can only be agreed upon once the municipality has received a child protection certificate from the National Police and a criminal record check from the Police.

The Child Protection Certificate is obtained by the municipality with the individual’s consent, while the criminal record is obtained by the individual from the police.
