During the summer, South Greenland receives many visits from cruise ships; passengers and other tourists in the city now have access to restrooms in Qaqortoq.
When cruise ships arrive in the summer, many tourists approach local businesses to ask to use a restroom. The first restrooms are now in use, while more are being installed in various locations around the city.
-Four portable toilets have already been set up and put into use at various locations in Qaqortoq, and eight more are to be installed. The restrooms are part of a pilot program that will be used during the summer and removed again in the winter, explains Malik Lundgaard Jensen, Director of Engineering and Environment.
In Narsaq and Nanortalik, there are portable restrooms that tourists can use.
